Deryn is the Curriculum Specialist for No Means No Worldwide (NMNW), a nonprofit organization delivering violence prevention programming to youth. She's served as a trainer for NMNW since 2019 where she teaches Instructors on ESD skills, who then empower girls in their communities. She has run trainings in South Africa, Nigeria, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Mexico. She now works to develop contextualized curricula that can be adapted to meet the needs of the community and to address specific types of violence youth face. Prior to her time at NMNW, Deryn served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in The Gambia as a teacher trainer for a rural primary school. She received her B.A. in Anthropology from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. Deryn currently lives in Chicago, IL.
