Turning Natural Allies into Strong Champions: Collaborating with Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Advocates

August 5 @ 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM EDT

The most recent reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act creates new opportunities to develop ESD programs for survivors and incorporate ESD into abuse prevention. To access these opportunities, ESD practitioners need to build strong partnerships with leaders of rape crisis centers, domestic violence programs, and state agencies. This workshop will help you understand the mixed reviews self-defense gets from survivor advocates and ways we can create programs and messages that resonate.
