Knife Defense with Overhead Catch

August 5 @ 1:00 PM - 1:30 PM EDT

The Overhand Catch method of defending against a knife assault was developed by Shihan John Lewis in the 1980s at Northwestern University. This method of knife defense is highly effective and very adaptable for beginning to advanced students alike. Being assaulted is stress-inducing in and of itself, but being assaulted with a weapon is highly stress-inducing. Practicing weapons defense techniques in a controlled, safe environment is vital to the development of a controlled and successive defense to this kind of attack.
