ESD Model Workshop Session 1

August 4 @ 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM EDT

Session 1 of 3

Come experience the blend of awareness, verbal and physical skills, and tools for adrenaline management and healing that is Empowerment Self Defense. A great class for those starting out in teaching ESD, for martial and healing arts practitioners who have not yet experienced ESD, and a requirement for ESD teachers seeking certification along with three ESD electives (see the description below of the ESD Model Course. Experienced and/or already certified ESD instructors are invited to join us for Session 3.)

Sessions 1 and 2 represent a model 3-hour ESD class regularly offered by the instructor’s organization, Prevention. Action. Change., for all genders and identities ages 14 and up. Each session is a blend of ESD elements and presented in a trauma-informed, survivor-centered manner. Content covers assertive communication and boundary setting in a range of common situations with known and unknown persons; methods for preventing and responding to unwanted touch and attempted assault; awareness building; and methods for adrenaline management.
